The World Rowing Council is pleased to attribute the following World Rowing Masters Regatta host cities for the following three years. After receiving quality bids from several candidate cities and following bid visits and reviews of all bid documentation, the WR Council are pleased to announce the following host cities:

– 2026 – Bled, Slovenia (9-13 September)

– 2027 – Varese, Italy (8-12 September)

– 2028 – Villach, Austria (20-24 September)

Bled has hosted the 2017 World Rowing Masters Regatta, and more recently, the 2023 European Rowing Championships. Bled is the centre of Slovenian rowing with more than a 100 years of tradition. Many successful Slovenian rowers have started their rowing career here and later went on to winning medals at the highest level of competition, including the Olympic Games.

Varese is a regular mark in the World Rowing Calendar, having hosted the World Rowing Masters Regatta in 2013 and more recently, World Cup stages in 2023 and 2024, the World Rowing Under 23 and Under 19 Championships in 2022 and the European Championships in 2021. Varese is located in the Northern part of Italy, 55km north of Milan. The town lies at the foot of the Campo dei Fiori mountain range overlooking Lake Varese.

Villach will host a World Rowing Masters Regatta for the first-time ever. But Villach is not new to international Rowing, having hosted the 1976 World Rowing Championships. Set on the serene waters of Lake Ossiach, and known for its stunning alpine scenery and deep rowing heritage, Villach promises an exceptional backdrop for this premier event in the masters rowing calendar.
