Coastal and Beach Sprint Race Opportunities in 2025

Since the announcement that Beach Sprint Coastal Rowing would be included in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, interest in the discipline has grown tremendously. This is true at all levels – National teams are hiring dedicated staff, creating dedicated centres, and identifying potential star athletes, all in the hopes of claiming one of those first Olympic medals of the discipline. Clubs are also turning some of their efforts towards coastal – investing in coastal gear, recruiting coastal coaches, creating specific regional leagues, and organising (or helping organise) coastal regattas.

For athletes who are looking to grow their coastal experience and test their skill level internationally, the World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals remain the pinnacle event of the season, although this regatta does require you be selected and entered by your National Federation. Many other events are open to elite competitors and club crews alike.
