Everything You Need to Know About the World Rowing Masters Membership

Masters Rowing is more than just competition — it’s a worldwide community built on passion and a shared love for the sport. The World Rowing Masters Regatta brings together rowers of all ages and skill levels in a competitive, yet entertaining atmosphere.

In that spirit, World Rowing has launched the World Rowing Masters Portal — a digital platform created to better connect and support Masters rowers worldwide.

Built for the Masters Rowing Community

The portal is the result of years of feedback from athletes, club representatives, and volunteers, pointing to the need for a system that strengthens community connections, enhances the athlete experience, and improves fairness.

In a 2023 survey, 86% of Masters rowers supported the idea of a dedicated license, setting the stage for this initiative.

At the core of the portal is the World Rowing Masters Membership, now required for all Masters wishing to compete in the World Rowing Masters Regatta from 2025 onwards.

Two Membership Options: Silver and Gold

There are two Memberships available: Silver and Gold. The Silver Membership, priced at €15 per year, includes several essential features. It provides automatic ID verification to ensure placement in the correct age category, a personal online profile page with the racing history and participation, and the ability to find other Masters to compete with.

For those seeking additional benefits, the Gold Membership offers even more. For €99 per year, Gold membership unlocks access to everyone’s results history. They also receive a €50 voucher to spend on World Rowing merchandise online, and have the possibility to purchase premium World Rowing merchandise created specially for Gold members.

Gold members will have exclusive event experiences such as access to a networking dinner at the 2025 World Rowing Masters Regatta in Banyoles, Spain, and a professional action photo taken during the event, for sharing with friends and families. And starting in June 2025, they will have access to a new feature that allows them to connect with potential crewmates and discover more racing opportunities.
