Join the Movement: World Rowing launches 2025 World Rowing Virtual Series

World Rowing is thrilled to announce the launch of the 2025 World Rowing Virtual Series, a four-part series aimed at challenging rowers and fitness lovers alike through ‘out-of-the-ordinary’ tests on the Indoor Rowing machine.

The 2025 World Rowing Virtual Series will take place from 1 June to 30 September 2025, and will feature four unique monthly challenges, each revealed just before the start of the month. Competitors will be able to complete the challenges from anywhere in the world on a Concept2 indoor rowing machine and log their results online as many times as they would like. Points will be awarded to top athletes each month, with a monthly ranking and overall series winners crowned after the final challenge.

This new initiative is part of World Rowing’s ambitious Indoor Rowing strategy, which aims to grow the discipline by making it more inclusive, digitally accessible, and community-driven. Following the development of a dedicated rulebook and the recognition of virtual racing formats, World Rowing is working to broaden participation and increase visibility of Indoor Rowing worldwide — not just among elite athletes, but also within the fitness and wellness communities.

By creating engaging formats such as the Virtual Series, World Rowing is helping to foster a global Indoor Rowing community, create new competitive pathways, and offer rowers of all levels fresh ways to connect with the sport — whether from their home, gym, or rowing club.
