World Rowing President Jean-Christophe Rolland elected to ASOIF Council
World Rowing is proud to announce that its President, Jean-Christophe Rolland, has been elected to the Council of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) for the 2025–2029 term.

The election took place during the ASOIF General Assembly on 11 June 2025 in Lausanne, Switzerland. ASOIF is composed of 30 full-member International Federations and five Associate Members, and plays a key role in shaping the future of the Olympic Movement.
Rolland was elected alongside Andreas Zagklis, Secretary General of FIBA, and Nenad Lalovic, President of United World Wrestling. Ximena Restrepo, Senior Vice President of World Athletics, was elected for a two-year term (2025–2027).
“I’m honoured to have been elected to the ASOIF Council and grateful for the trust of my peers,” said Jean-Christophe Rolland. “It is a privilege to represent World Rowing and contribute to strengthening the role of International Federations within the Olympic Movement. Together, we have a responsibility to foster collaboration, innovation and integrity across all sports.”
The ASOIF General Assembly also received updates from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the Organising Committees for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032, the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, as well as the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the International Testing Agency (ITA).
ASOIF’s mission is to unite, promote and support the Summer Olympic International Federations, advocate for their shared interests, and represent them on matters relating to the Summer Olympic Games, the Summer Youth Olympic Games, and the Olympic Movement more broadly.
