World Rowing partners with beIN SPORTS to elevate Rowing’s coverage ahead of LA28
World Rowing, the international governing body for the sport of Rowing, announced today a multi-year media rights partnership with beIN SPORTS, one of the world’s leading global sports networks. This collaboration marks another milestone in the Federation’s strategic approach to amplify the media presence of Rowing across North America, a region critical to the sport’s growth and momentum in the build-up to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
The partnership further expands the reach of elite on-water Rowing on the screens of sport fans across Canada and the United States of America. Under the agreement, beIN SPORTS will deliver in-depth coverage of the sport’s most prestigious events, including the World Rowing Championships, European Rowing Championships, World Rowing Cup series, and the World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals – Rowing’s new competition format that will make its Olympic debut in Los Angeles in 2028. The coverage will include full live event broadcasts, highlights, and expert-led features designed to engage new and existing audiences.
“Partnering with beIN SPORTS gives us a powerful platform to share the beauty and intensity of Rowing with broader North American audiences,” said Christian Osterode, Head of Broadcast & Marketing at World Rowing. “As we look towards LA28, this agreement allows us to strengthen consistent and compelling narratives around the sport while bringing world-class Rowing to an increased number of screens across the continent.”
beIN SPORTS, known for its premium live sports programming and global reach, will make Rowing content available across its linear channels and extensive digital platforms, including beIN SPORTS CONNECT. The partnership ensures easy access for fans through smart TVs, mobile apps, and leading streaming services.
Antonio Briceño, Managing Director of beIN SPORTS North America said: “Rowing is a sport that exemplifies athleticism and tradition – we’re excited to provide a home for World Rowing’s incredible athletes and events on our channels across the US and Canada – and we look forward to deepening engagement with the Rowing communities and introducing the sport to new fans .”
The next fixture on beIN Sports’ broadcast calendar will see the channel providing coverage of the Swiss leg of the 2025 World Rowing Cup to be held at the iconic Rotsee in Lucerne 28 and 29 June 2025 followed by live broadcasts from the 2025 World Rowing Championships in Shanghai, China. All events will be accessible to viewers in Canada and the USA via beIN SPORTS’ suite of platforms.
