Challenge Prince Albert II welcomes strong Olympic Champion contingent to Monaco
The Challenge Prince Albert II, Monaco’s flagship coastal rowing event, returns on 22–23 November 2025, bringing together an exceptional mix of Olympians, world champions, and elite coastal specialists for one of the most competitive editions to date. Now firmly established as a premier international race for the discipline, the event once again features two full days of racing, four boat categories, and €10,000 in prize money. A total of 26 teams and over 130 athletes, including more than 30 Olympians, 7 Olympic medallists, and over 20 world champions, will line up on the start. Seventeen nations are represented, from rowing powerhouses like Italy, Great Britain, Germany, and the Netherlands, to coastal specialists from Spain, Portugal, Israel, and New Zealand.
Triple Olympic champions Martin and Valent Sinkovic (CRO) bring unprecedented pedigree to Monaco, headlining the Filippi Legends squad alongside Tokyo bronze medallist Magdalena Lobnig (AUT) and her sister Katharina Lobnig.
Coming off a year away from international racing after her Paris 2024 Olympic gold in the W1x, Dutch powerhouse Karolien Florijn joins a stacked Swift Racing contingent featuring British star Lauren Henry, herself an Olympic champion in the W4x and 2025 World silver medallist in the single. Their combination with New Zealanders Ben Mason and Finn Hamill makes this one of the most complete teams in the field.
Italy’s Olympic lightweight champion Valentina Rodini strengthens the Rubenetti lineup, which also includes former world champion Martino Goretti and Sophie Souwer. The tournament’s Dutch-Italian fusion squad, RubenNedti, fields Jan van der Bij, Olympic silver medallist and newly crowned 2025 World Champion in the Men’s Eight, alongside a strong Dutch coastal cadre.
A multiple world champion in both coastal and beach sprint disciplines, Christopher Bak (USA) brings raw coastal expertise to the Filippi Performance lineup, which also features Ukraine’s Olympic champion Anastasiia Kozhenkova and Finland’s Joel Naukkarinen.
