Hold that split! Top 25 rowing moments for 2025 is coming
If 2024 was a strong tailwind sending rowers hurtling towards Paris, then 2025 was a cross head-wind, white-caps-on-the-water sort of year with changes, upgrades and the emergence fresh new talent.
When we sat down to pick the Top 25 Moments in Rowing for 2025, we realised something important: rowers are incapable of doing anything at a casual pace. Not races, not training, not celebrations, and certainly not giving us a quiet year of rowing.
For a sneaky reveal of what’s on that top 25 list think of new events, never been seen before internationally, think of countries that have never seen international medals before, think of what happens when you put men and women in the same boat together and think of what a row-bot may look like.
Of course, behind all of this are the personalities that make up our sport. Some a quirky, some are unusual, some are all genuine, and some are just plain hot. Social media loves a good, sharp, charming and sometimes witty banter and rowing had it all.
