About the venue
The Concha Bay – One of the best city beaches in Europe
The Beach of La Concha is a crescent shaped urban seaboard of the city of San Sebastián located at the Bay of La Concha in the Basque Country, in northern Spain. Its name “Concha” is given upon its remarkably regular shape. The scenic setting in the Bay of La Concha and the 19th century elegance of fashionable seaside resorts have made the site very popular, as it is frequently cited as one of the most beautiful and the most famous urban beaches in Europe.
Today thousands upon thousands of visitors continue to lean on the famous railings on its promenade and gaze upon the same sensational bay, sheltered by Mount Igeldo, Mount Urgull and Santa Clara Island. Visitors who take that iconic photo of the city, with the beach in the background, and then sit on a terrace and enjoy the view. Or visitors who can’t resist and go down to the sand and walk barefoot along its more than 1300 metres, enjoying its fine white sand.
