2022 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals

EVENT DESCRIPTION

The inaugural World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals in Shenzhen, China in 2019 were followed successfully in 2021 in Oeiras, Portugal following the postponement from 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The third edition of the WRBSF will take place alongside the World Rowing Coastal Championships in 2022 in the coastal village of Saundersfoot.

ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION

Eligibility information: The World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals are open to rowers who are authorised to compete for their member federation under Rule 12 of the World Rowing Rules of Racing. World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals (which may also be called Beach Sprint Championships) are held in the following events:

Men: CM1x, CJM1x, CJM2x

Women: CW1x, CJW1x, CJW2x

Mixed: CMix2x, CMix4x+, CJMix2x

Athlete Voting for Coastal Rowing Member of Athletes’ Commission

Voting will take place at designated booth for the election of one member of the Athletes’ Commission representing Coastal rowers.  Voting will take place:

Friday 14 October – 12:00 – 18:00  in the Athlete Area

Saturday 15 October 12:00 – 18:00 in the Athlete Area

Please inform your athletes to come by and cast their vote.  Voting must be in person.  No proxy voting is allowed.  Athletes must bring their accreditation card.

Voting will be done electronically. All accredited athletes at the 2022 World Rowing Coastal Championships & 2022 World Rowing Beach Sprint Final, including spares, are eligible to vote.

2023 ANOC WORLD BEACH GAMES QUALIFICATION

This event will also serve as the first qualification event for the 2023 ANOC WBG.

The top six crews in the CM1x, CW1x, and CMix2x will qualify for the 2023 ANOC WBG: the winner and runner up of the A-Final, the winner and runner up of the B-Final, and the two fastest non-qualifier times from the quarterfinals.

The quota places in all qualification regattas are allocated to the NOC(s) and the NOC may enter a boat with different athletes at the ANOC World Beach Games than those who qualified the boat.

Relay Qualification Event: Only NOCs, with boats competing in all three AWBG 2023 events (CM1x, CW1x and CMix2x) shall qualify for the Relay event. World Rowing decision on teams qualified to compete in the Relay shall be final.

ABOUT THE VENUE

The World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals will take place from Saundersfoot beach and harbour, in the Pembrokeshire National Park in Wales, Great Britain.
