
EVENT DESCRIPTION
The senior World Rowing Championships are held every year at the end of the international rowing season and World Champions are crowned in 14 Olympic boat classes – seven for men and seven for women, as well as six International boat classes for lightweight rowers.
Para-rowers compete in nine boat classes, five are Paralympic boat classes.
ELIGIBILITY
The World Rowing Championships shall be open to all competitors who are authorised to compete by their member federation and who are eligible under the relevant rules. To represent a country in a World Rowing Championship, a competitor shall be a citizen of that country. He or she must be able to prove this by showing an official document (passport or identity card). In exceptional cases the Executive Committee may make exceptions. Rowers may only compete at the World Rowing Championships if they have submitted a signed commitment form, according to Article 56. Each team official must have submitted a signed commitment form to World Rowing before accreditation may be issued at a World Rowing event.

EVENT INFORMATION
The 2023 World Rowing Championships, Belgrade will be the first opportunity for Member Federations to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. More details on the qualification process can be found at the respective link below.

1 – At this stage, no decision has been taken by the IOC regarding the participation of Individual Neutral Athletes with Belarussian or Russian passports at the Olympic Games Paris;
2 – If an AIN (Individual Neutral Athletes) secures a quota place, this quota place is held until a final decision on participation at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
3 – If any reallocation of Olympic quota places is needed to reflect any such decision, or ahead of Continental Olympic qualification regattas, such decision shall be taken in due course.

ABOUT THE VENUE
The Ada Ciganlija Regatta course is situated on the Sava Lake in the heart of Belgrade. The lake is 3000m long and hosted the European Rowing Championships in 2014 and World Rowing Cups in 2017, 2018 and 2022.
