EVENT DESCRIPTION
Coastal rowing is an exciting and emerging discipline of rowing, which will be included in the LA 2028 Olympic programme. The inaugural World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals in Shenzhen, China in 2019 were followed successfully in 2021 in Oeiras, Portugal following the postponement from 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The third edition of the WRBSF took place alongside the World Rowing Coastal Championships in 2022 in the coastal village of Saundersfoot, while the 2023 and 2024 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals took place in Barletta, Italy, and Genoa, Italy, respectfully.
The 2025 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals will take place 23-26 October, 2025 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

EVENT ELIGIBILITY
The 2025 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, are open to rowers who are authorized to compete for their member federation under Rule 12 of the World Rowing Rules of Racing:
To compete in a World Rowing Coastal Championship regatta, a rower shall be a member of a club recognised by the member federation. World Rowing may implement additional eligibility requirements for specific events at the World Rowing Coastal Championships and may require pre-qualification for some or all events if a limit on the number of competitors is necessary. Any such criteria will be published in advance of the Championships in the Competition Notice.
