EVENT DESCRIPTION 

The 2025 World Rowing Cup will take place 27 – 29 June in Lucerne, Switzerland. 

The World Rowing Cups are an annual series of regattas that act as a lead-up to the World Rowing Championships. World Rowing Cups are held over three days with a progression system from heats through to finals. Racing at the World Rowing Cup includes the 12 Olympic boat classes and a selection of International boat classes. Para Rowing is contested at some World Cups. Each Olympic boat class earns points based on the finishing order. The highest placing boat from a country is awarded the following points:

1st = 8 points, 2nd = 6 points, 3rd = 5 points, 4th = 4 points, 5th = 3 points, 6th = 2 points, 7th = 1 point

BROADCAST

Live video streaming will be available on the World Rowing website on Saturday, 28 June from 10:30 CEST, and on Sunday, 29 June, from 11:00 CEST. The video streaming will start 5 minutes before the first race. The live broadcast will be available, among others, on the following platforms:

The entry deadline for the 2025 World Rowing Cup – Lucerne is:

ELIGIBILITY 

World Rowing Cup regattas shall be open to all competitors who are authorised to compete by their member federation and who are eligible under the relevant rules. To represent a Member Federation in a World Rowing Cup regatta, a rower must be a citizen of that country or a bona fide member of the rowing club for which they compete in that country. In World Rowing Cup events at World Rowing Cup regattas, rowers shall compete under the name of their Member Federation that shall alone be entitled to enter them.  

Each Member Federation may enter a maximum of two crews in each event of the 2025 World Rowing Cup regattas.

ABOUT THE VENUE 

The waters of the Rotsee are ideal for competitive rowing. The lake’s size and shape enable Olympic-style six-lane racing over 2000 meters; its geographical position makes the course arguably the fairest in the world. 

At the same the Rotsee is also a Nature Reserve with a rich variety of flora and fauna. Its shores are a year-round recreational area for large numbers of local residents.
