
EVENT DESCRIPTION
The World Rowing Indoor Championships (WRICH) are held annually, typically near the end of February. The 2021 World Rowing Indoor Championships, presented by Concept2, will be held virtually.
The WRICH comprises two phases: Qualification, 27 November 2020 (23:59 CET) – 7 February 2021 (23:59 CET) and Finals (23-27 February 2021). Competitors who qualify for the WRICH finals will race virtually, and in real time, against other finalists in their race category.

QUALIFICATION
The WRICH Qualification will feature two qualification pathways: An Open Qualification and a Continental Qualification. The WRICH finals will each include 10-20 qualified athletes, varying by race category.
For specific details on qualification, and how many athletes qualify via each pathway, please refer to the Competitor Overview, Terms & Conditions document.
Qualification will take place from 27 November 2020 (23:59 CET) to 7 February 2021 (23:59 CET).
Open Qualification Pathway
The Open Qualification Pathway will allow competitors to complete a qualification race at any time during the WRICH Qualification in order to attempt to qualify for the WRICH Finals. A maximum of two athletes from the same country may qualify for a final race via the Open Qualification pathway.
Continental Qualification Pathway
One qualification event will be organised for each of the five continents:recognised by World Rowing : Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania.
• The African Continental Qualifier for the WRICH will take place on 28 November 2020, and will be hosted by the St. Andrew’s School for Girls (Gauteng, RSA). This event will also double up as the 2020 African Rowing INdoor Championships. For more information on this event, and to register, please visit https://virtualregatta.africa/
• The Americas Continental Qualifier for the WRICH will take place on 6-7 February 2021, and will be hosted by the Canadian Indoor Rowing Association. • The Asian Continental Qualifier for the WRICH will take place on 24 January 2021. On behalf of the Asian Rowing Federation, the Hong Kong, China Rowing Association will host the event. • The European Continental Qualifier for the WRICH will take place on 5-6 December 2020, and will be hosted by British Rowing. This Continental Qualifier will be held as a part of BRIC Online (this year’s edition of the British Rowing Indoor Championships), which will also act at the 2021 European Rowing Indoor Championships. • The Oceania Continental Qualifier for the WRICH will take place on 5 December 2020, and will be hosted by the New Zealand Indoor Rowing Association. ELIGIBILITY
This event is open to all competitors anywhere in the world who can access a Concept2 static ergometer (PM3 or later). Competitors must submit a copy of their passport or National identity card (with a photo) at the time of entry to the WRICH.
