We leverage the collective power of the global rowing community to address sustainability issues through communication, education and partnerships to contribute to SDGs:

Event hosting requirements and bid documents are reviewed to reflect principles and objectives and to include necessary sustainability requirements and actions for Organising Committees. Furthermore, World Rowing will not enter into any strategic partnerships or sponsorships with organisations that do not meet its sustainability criteria.

World Rowing is committed to educate its rowing communities, partners and stakeholders to build knowledge and capacity to act.

It has embedded sustainability modules into the coaching and officials’ education frameworks.  It therefore will develop a set of resources (guidelines, toolkits, templates) to educate its stakeholders – Staff, Commissions, Organising Committees, Partners and Member Federations – on its sustainability standards, principles and practices and facilitate adoption of these practices.

We will collect case studies and collaborate with other sports and organisations to build our online database of best practices available to Organising Committees, Clubs, Rowers and Member Federations.
