There is no doubt: they are the best in rowing
Thomas Ebert of Denmark
The World Rowing team love statistics, so with the help of the statisticians at Infostradasports we have compiled a list of the top 10 rowers for 2005. This has been determined by all-time World Championship and Olympic results of each athlete including total number of medals won.
But don't expect to see the all time most medalled athlete, Sir Steve Redgrave there – eligibility requires that the athlete be competing internationally in 2005. Four of the Top 10 male rowers are Italian. Germany is up there too with three rowers in the Top 10 list, one man and two women.
World Rowing will be tracking these athletes down and bringing to you a photo gallery display as well as getting them to spill the beans on the story of their success. Watch out for them on www.worldrowing.com.
So, here is the 2005 Top 10 list, indicating gold medal results only. To view the full Olympic and World Championship medal tally of each male rower, click herehere.
