Following the announcement of 19 April 2021 regarding the postponement of the 2021 European Rowing Junior Championships, European Rowing have continued discussions with the Munich Organising Committee (OC) and have verified that the preparation of the OC conforms to the current local public health requirements as well as the World Rowing requirements for 2021 regattas.

The European Rowing Board has confirmed that the regatta will take place from 9 to 10 October 2021.

The OC has developed a covid-19 response plan for staging the event based on the recommendations of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and World Rowing. The plan fulfils the requirements of the current German covid-19 legislation. The local health authorities have been informed accordingly.

European Rowing and the OC are confident that the measures planned to be in place are appropriate to minimise the risk of transmission and infection at the event. The event covid-19 Response Plan will shortly be available on the OC website (https://erjch2021.com/).

It is the responsibility of each Member Federation to exercise maximum care for its team members before, during and after the event. All participants must follow the measures in the OC covid-19 Response Plan at all times. This includes the wearing of masks at all times except in the boat, on an ergometer or at meals. There must be social distancing and regular disinfection, among the other measures published by the OC.

The OC will contact Member Federations directly with the latest accommodation and logistical information in order for the teams to prepare and make their bookings. The deadline for accommodation reservations is 22 August 2021. Teams should make any enquiries to the OC at accommodation@regatta.de, as soon as possible to receive the latest accommodation booking information.

The deadline for entries for the 2021 ERJCH will be 24 September 2021.

European Rowing and the Munich OC continue to monitor the covid-19 situation in Germany and the latest recommendations from the WHO and local health authorities. Any further updates will be communicated to the Member Federations directly.
