Trieste was the setting for the regatta celebrating 130 years since the creation of the International Rowing Federation, which is now know as World Rowing. The event was organized by FIC Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Committee, and its President Daniele Scaini, with the support and patronage of the Italian Rowing Federation, represented in the area by Council Member Massimiliano D’Ambrosi, and with the support of the Municipality of Trieste and the collaboration of all rowing clubs in the region. Athletes from the five founding nations of the international governing body took part in the event: Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, France and Adriatic Societies.

A total of 12 rounds of 500 meters took place in double sculls and coxless pairs, with the participation of Under 19 athletes, on the competition field inside the Porto Vecchio in Bacino San Giorgio. At the end of the three rounds, scheduled for each event for both men and women, Italy won two races (women’s coxless pairs and men’s double sculls), Switzerland one (men’s coxless pairs) and Adriatic Societies one (women’s double sculls).
