From 17 to 23 October, the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, witnessed the great movement and growth of Para Rowing in America with the participation of Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay in a training camp that culminated with the realization of the International Para Rowing Regatta 2022 on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 within the framework of the Brazilian Rowing Championship.

The regattas were held in PR1 W1x and PR1 M1x as well as in PR2 Mix2x.

It was a party where each of the rowers sought and managed to give their best, all finished the races with the great satisfaction of the goal achieved, it was a total commitment from all the rowers and also all the coaches and staff who worked tirelessly, but something very important always accompanied by a smile and displayed a great teamwork.

Para Rowing Development was at its best on the 2016 Olympic stage at Lagoa Rodrigo Da Freitas in Rio de Janeiro.

As the next Olympic Games in Paris are approaching, Para Rowing in the Americas is gaining momentum, especially in the PR1 sport class.

Within the Development group that participated in the Camp the most outstanding rowers by category were:

Michel Muñoz from Mexico in the PR1 M1x had a memorable performance winning the Gold Medal with a great solvency showing a great growth and evolution.

Christa Akins of Canada in the PR1 W1x took the Silver Medal with an excellent dynamic behind Claudia Cicero of Brazil who took the Gold Medal.

In the PR2 Mix2x, the Argentinean duo Emilse Freire and Luis Alberto Freire with a great technique and coupling went home with the Bronze Medal.

They lived really unforgettable and exciting moments during the whole development of the camp and the regatta, congratulations to all without exception for the work done with great dedication, passion and joy, everyone went home very happy looking forward to repeat this great experience.
