World Rowing and RegattaCentral strengthen partnership and deliver first year of the World Rowing Masters Portal
World Rowing is continuing its partnership with RegattaCentral through 2028, reinforcing a shared, multi‑year commitment to investment, innovation, and the delivery of modern digital services for the global Masters Rowing community.
Successfully launched in 2024, the World Rowing Masters Portal became mandatory for all participants at the 2025 World Rowing Masters Regatta in Banyoles, Spain. The rollout introduced a new level of structure, visibility, and connectivity for Masters athletes and clubs worldwide, establishing a unified digital foundation for participation in the event.
The partnership builds on RegattaCentral’s long‑standing role as a leading registration platform and expands into a broader strategic technology collaboration supporting federations, events, and lifelong athlete engagement. In addition to managing regatta entries, RegattaCentral now operates the World Rowing Masters Membership Platform – a dedicated online hub where Masters rowers can manage their athlete profiles, complete identity verification, declare their representing clubs, and access historical World Rowing Masters Regatta results.
The platform also introduces new opportunities for athletes to connect with one another through features such as Athlete Connect, enabling Masters rowers to find people to race with and fostering stronger connections across the global Masters community – both on and off the water.
Mandatory verification through the portal has delivered measurable operational benefits. At the 2025 World Rowing Masters Regatta in Banyoles, athlete accreditation distribution and on‑site processing were significantly streamlined, contributing to a smoother and more efficient experience for athletes, clubs, and event organisers alike.
As the portal continues to evolve, World Rowing and RegattaCentral are working closely to introduce enhanced athlete profiles, new premium features, expanded club functionality, and deeper integration with event registration workflows. The World Rowing Masters Portal is designed as a foundational digital layer capable of supporting future federation services and scaling alongside the growing Masters community, which spans over 50 countries and tens of thousands of active participants worldwide.
“The Masters community has been asking for tools that make participation easier, clearer, and more connected,” said Ron Chen, Chair of the World Rowing Masters Commission. “The World Rowing Masters Portal is a major step forward in delivering exactly that. We’re delighted to see how quickly athletes and clubs have embraced the platform, and we look forward to continuing our work with RegattaCentral to ensure Masters rowers everywhere feel supported, informed, and part of a truly global community.”
“This partnership reflects RegattaCentral’s broader mission to serve as the long‑term digital backbone for Rowing worldwide,” said Steve Lopez, President of RegattaCentral. “Together with World Rowing, we are investing in scalable, modern tools that enhance the athlete experience, strengthen event operations, and support the continued growth of the Masters community for years to come.”
