We are about to start the 2026 World Rowing Under 2019 Championships! We were just here two weeks ago for the 2026 World Rowing Cup II, and we loved it so much we are back at The Rowing Canal in Plovdiv. The venue is used to hosting elite-level rowing, so we feel right at home here.

Yesterday, the beautiful Plovdiv hosted the Opening Ceremony at the historic Roman Stadium, built in the 2nd century AD! Not only did we hear a lot of cheering as each flag was presented, but we also practised our ‘Ro’ chant!

We are welcoming 660 athletes (367 men and 293 women) representing 55 nations; this is up from 594 athletes from 47 nations last year. You can follow all of the action here on the World Rowing website, including our live blog and on YouTube!

Don’t forget to follow us on social media; our official hashtags for the event are: #WRU19CHPlovdiv and #WorldRowingU19Champs
