The sand is set and the world’s best young Rowing athletes are ready to race as Coastal Beach Sprints take centre stage at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games.

From 31 October, 64 athletes, evenly split between 32 men and 32 women, will go head-to-head at Saly Beach, around 85km south of Dakar. All of the athletes competing were born on or after 14 November 2008.

The four-day programme begins with time trials in all three boat classes: the Under 19 Men’s Solo, Under 19 Women’s Solo and Under 19 Mixed Double Sculls.

From there, the competition will build towards the medal races, with Youth Olympic medals decided across the final two days.
