Anti-Doping Rules Violation: Lakshay Lakshay (IND)
World Rowing has been notified by the National Anti Doping Agency of India (NADA) of the resolution of a national Anti-Doping rule violation case involving Indian rower Lakshay Lakshay.
The athlete has been sanctioned as follows:
- Period of Ineligibility of three (3) years from 24 July 2026 to 24 July 2029
- Disqualification of results obtained from 25 May 2026 onwards.
Lakshay and his teammate, Ujjawal Kumar Singh, won the Lightweight Men’s Double Sculls (LM2x) A final at the 2026 World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne, Switzerland. As a consequence of this Anti-Doping rule violation, the athlete’s results obtained during the applicable period have been disqualified. The relevant amendments to the results and any resulting allocation of medals will be carried out in accordance with the applicable rules.
World Rowing remains strongly committed to the fight against doping and to the protection of clean sport. It sincerely regrets cases of this nature and will continue to support the application of the World Anti-Doping Code.
